Fair Observer

Fair Observer is an online platform that provides analysis of issues, events, and trends of global significance. Fair Observer was founded in 2010 with offices in Washington, D.C., and Munich. Fair Observer recently received an award from German Silicon Valley Accelerator to spend six months in Silicon Valley's Plug and Play Tech Center, an organization that brings together entrepreneurs, corporations, universities, governments, investors, and other key players in the Silicon Valley ecosystem. Fair Observer is enhancing its current web platform to incorporate innovative technologies to both aggregate and disseminate news, analysis, and multimedia content from all over the world. Fair Observer has over 300 contributors and aims to compete with The Economist, BBC, Al Jazeera English, and Die Zeit.
Whereas other leading global analysis organizations often interpret issues from a particular national, regional, or ideological viewpoint, Fair Observer provides a plurality of perspectives so as not to privilege a particular viewpoint. Fair Observer additionally publishes a unique feature known as its 360° View of the world. A notable example of the 360° View is their analysis of the 2011 UN vote on Palestinian statehood: which included input from Israelis, Palestinians, and others writing on the topic thus giving a more complete picture than many traditional mainstream media.
