Jakartabeat is an Indonesian-based webzine of music, book, film, politics, and humaniora essays. History Jakartabeat was founded by Philips Vermonte and M. Taufiqurrahman. The webzine was founded because of many Indonesia mainstream media placed music under simplicity infotainment format, which the format do not place the music itself as main menu to be talked, but only placed sensational personal life news of the related musician. Taufiqurrahman, co-founder of the webzine give an example; the pregnant singer Mulan Jameela got more portion in news publication other than the music which the singer created. The webzine also tried to capture and spread the music from many unique angle according to the contributor background and interest. The contributor which had politics science education background will shoot the music to his/her page from politics angle. |
