Dwight D. Murphey (born June 14, 1934 in Tucson, Arizona) is a retired lawyer and professor of business law at Wichita State University. Murphey studied political science at the University of Colorado, graduating in 1954. He then did graduate studies in business at New York University from 1956 to 1957, and in law at the University of Denver from 1957 to 1959. After serving in private legal practice from 1959 to 1966, and an unsuccessful campaign for a judicial position, he joined the Wichita State faculty in 1967, and retired in 2003.
Murphey is the author of nine professionally published books, four self-published books, and numerous other shorter publications.
