James Ennes

James M. Ennes Jr. is a retired naval officer at USS Liberty (AGTR-5) during USS Liberty incident and author of the book "Assault on the Liberty" which claims the incident was a deliberate attack.
Controversy
James Ennes a junior officer (and off-going Officer of the Deck) on bridge at the time of the attack, claims in his book "Assault on the Liberty," (Random House, 1980; Ballantine Books 1986; Reintree Press 2004) about the unprovoked USS Liberty incident by Israel on during the Six Day War in June, 1967, where 34 Americans are killed and 174 wounded, it was a deliberate attack and not an accident.
While official reports maintain it was an accident, some politicians and crew members including Ennes state the attack was deliberate.
