Daniel Bentley is an English footballer currently playing for Southend United in the nPower League 2. Bentley was a product of the Centre of Excellence at Southend, and was offered a professional deal in May 2011, to act as 2nd choice goalkeeper, as previous 2nd choice goalkeeper Rhys Evans was released by the club. <big>Playing Career</big> Bentley has never played a professional first team football match for Southend, but has made numerous appearances in the U-18 team (32) and the reserve team (7). He went on loan to Conference South side Braintree Town to act as cover and played one game, and was part of the Southend United U-18 team that were beaten 9-0 by Liverpool in the 5th round of the FA Youth Cup at Anfield on 14 February 2011. |
