|
Introduction To Hebrew Logic. Part One: The Ketoret. is a book by Itai Cohen. It is the fictional account of a Cohen descended from the house of Avitnas and his investigation of the mysteries of the ketoret (the sacred incense). Plot Introduction to Hebrew Logic is presented as a series of concentric circles that interweaves fiction with historical/biblical stories. The outer circle presents the Hebrew language and Hebrew culture and their relation to western culture, English, innovation, technology and more. The next circle presents the story of a contemporary Cohen, a descendant to the house of Avitnas, the house that was cursed for keeping the secrets of the sacred Ketoret (holy incense). The next circle presents the story of the Ketoret itself; its history, botany, compound, chemistry, pharmacology, Kabalistic origins, its nature, and other characteristics. The next circle is about providing answers to long awaited complex questions in Judaism. Some of the answers, such as the reasons for the Shaatnez, are considered as a sign to the immediate arrival of the Messiah. Within this layer, answers are provided to questions such as: * The nature of the Ketoret, its formula, its production methods and more. * What is Strange-Fire? * What is Shaatnez, and what are the reasons for it? * Who is the man of time? * What are the exact reasons for the exact selection of the Seven Species? * What are the physical functions of the Four Species? * What is Etsba Tsreda? * What is Azazel? The next circle is about philosophy in general: Ethics, Aesthetics, Metaphysics, Epistemology, causality, are intertwined. Focusing on ethics the next circle explores ethics to justify the narrator's decisions of How and What to publish. The inner circle is devoted to the qualities of light and physics - a unifying theory is then presented followed by a unifying formula of everything. In the final inner circle, the Avitnas Cohen warns against transforming this part of science into technology or weaponry.
