Eslut is a pejorative term applied to an individual who is behaving in a sexually promiscuous way electronically - be it via Facebook, Twitter, email or elsewhere online. The term can be used to describe both men and women who engage in online sexting, or other sexually explicit or suggestive behavior that face-to-face would be considered inappropriate. Historically the word slut has been used to refer to women only, however with the explosion of social networking sites and given the anonymous nature of the internet the term 'eslut' can describe a man or a woman. If the eslut is being unfaithful to a partner then 'edultery' occurs. Etymology Eslut is derived from the word slut (much as email is derived from the word mail). The "e" prefix denotes the electronic nature of the term. A full etymology of the word slut can be seen on that page in . An eslut is not however to be confused with a slut. In fact esluts may hold positions of power, status and office and it is merely their online behavior that is sexually promiscuous and socially inappropriate, not their interpersonal behavior.
