Sean Cuff

Sean Cuff is a footballer, born 21 May 1993, who is currently unattached from a club. Born in Middlesbrough, Cuff is a goalkeeper who started his footballer career with Sheffield Wednesday Academy and made two appearances on the bench for the Sheffield Wednesday first team. He also has played on loan at Cambridge United and Worksop Town.
Career
Sheffield Wednesday, 2010-2012
Cuff made his first appearance on the bench for Sheffield Wednesday in the 2010-11 Football League One season, when the club was low on goalkeepers due to injuries. This appearance on the bench was a 2-0 away loss against Southampton. Approaching the 2011-12 Football League One season, Cuff started in every Sheffield Wednesday XI friendly. These friendlies included: the 2-0 loss against Stocksbridge Park Steels; the 3-0 loss against Sheffield F.C.; the 3-2 loss against Hallam F.C. and the abysmal 14-0 loss against Alfreton Town, where he scored an own goal within the first two minutes. His second appearance on the bench for Sheffield Wednesday was, again when the club was low on goalkeepers due to injuries. This game was in the 2011-12 Football League One season, away to Bury which Sheffield Wednesday lost 2-1. In the 2011-12 Football League One season, Sheffield Wednesday were promoted on the last day of the season. Cuff was not at the club at the time, as he was with Worksop Town on loan (see below), and hadn't played a game that season for the Owls, therefore unable to claim the honour of runners-up in the 2011-12 Football League One season. On 15 May 2012, Cuff was amongst the six players above eighteen-years-old to be released by Sheffield Wednesday, he was unable to impress on his loan at Worksop Town and was released alongside Clinton Morrison, Richard O'Donnell, Jon Otsemobor, Vadaine Oliver and Chris Sedgwick.
Cambridge United (loan), 2012
On 10 January 2012, Cuff was signed on an emergency loan deal by Cambridge United the deal lasted one month, in which Cuff appeared on the bench on three consecutive occasions, against Grimsby Town, and twice against A.F.C. Telford United.
Worksop Town (loan), 2012
On 16 March 2012, Worksop Town signed Cuff on loan for the remainder of the season. He started the game against Chorley the following weekend in the Northern Premier League, Worksop Town lost 5-1. Cuff's next two appearances were both away losses. 3-0 against Stocksbridge Park Steels, and 3-1 against F.C. United of Manchester. Cuff's brief time out on loan has attracted attention from a host of clubs, such as Barnsley, Blackpool, Portsmouth and Norwich City. Cuff eventually won his first clean sheet of his career a match later, in the 2-0 win against Matlock Town. On 9 April 2012, Cuff was dropped to the bench for the Easter Monday game against Frickley Athletic, if he had started he would have played against his Sheffield Wednesday team mate Cecil Nyoni, whom is on loan at Frickley Athletic. In total he made six appearances for Worksop Town, his last appearance being against Stocksbridge Park Steels.
