Chuck Potashner

Chuck Potashner born in Stow, Massachusetts is an American indie pop musician. His music is synthesizer & guitar-based pop with simple, catchy melodies and experimental electronic sounds; the lyrics are often quirky and lighthearted although he occasionally explores darker themes such as jealousy, death, and the afterlife. Music career
From 1999 to 2004, Potashner recorded and released much of his material privately on CD-R. Potashner's first release of entirely original material was Completed. This was an EP length CD-R under the name of Racing Towards Red Lights. Completed was a catchy noise album with repetitive screaming vocals. The instrumentation was drum kit, harmonica, keyboard, & vocals. His second release as Racing Towards Red Lights was an electro pop album entitled Should I Turn Down The Rain.
From 2005 to 2008, Potashner was the lead singer and songwriter for Colorado based . They released three albums of high-energy electronic twee & powerpop pop.
In 2008, Potashner released a 7" vinyl & iTunes single, Magic Smile featuring the tracks Slightly Unhealthy Love Song & So Nice on his own record label, Mighty Pop Music.
Live performances by Potashner have differed in style; at times he has performed alone with only a guitar and a Korg Electribe, sometimes doing a cappella versions of his songs, while at other times he has been accompanied by a large band. As of November 2008, his live band is a 3 piece with acoustic guitar, trumpet, glockenspiel, & harmony vocals.
