You Me At Six

You Me At Six or sometimes referred to as "YMAS", "YMA6" or "YM@6" are a British rock band formed in 2005. They have produced many demo's, most of which are still to be released. However they have released three singles, "Save It For The Bedroom", "If I We're In Your Shoes" and "Gossip". The band are currently working on an album and have played many more songs at their live shows, such as a cover of Rihanna's "Umbrella".

History

You Me At Six grew slowly through the use of gaining popularity with fans on there Myspace page, and also by extensively touring throughout the UK. On These shows they have toured with Paramore, Fightstar, Elliot Minor and The Audition. They also played the main stage at the Give It A Name festival. They also supported Angels & Airwaves in April 2008.

In late 2007, they released their first single “Save It for the Bedroom” and their second single “If I Were in Your Shoes” was released on March 17th 2008. The music video for ‘If I Were in Your Shoes’ was released on February 15th and is to be put on all major music channels, such as Scuzz, MTV 2 and Fizz. Kerrang! has also previewed the video.

The band have stated that their album should be released in the summer. Speaking to musicscoop.net about the forthcoming release Josh Franceschi (vocals) said, “Our album will not be some standard pop punk album, it wonders off into all sorts of realms it shouldn’t, but it still sounds like You Me At Six. Just more grown up.” “We’re really proud of the songs and hope that when it comes out people like it as much as we do.”

Reception

Their sound has been compared with the likes of many bands of the same genre, such as Panic at the Disco and Brand New by NME magazine. magazine described their music as “Catchy melodies, snappy lyrics and hip-wriggling instrumentals.”.
