Checkpoint Theatre is a Singapore based non-profit theatre company. It was founded in 2002 by Claire Wong and Huzir Sulaiman who work in the company as its joint artistic directors. Checkpoint Theatre is known for its breeding of inter disciplinary elements of acting, directing, play-writing and screen-playing. it focuses on using new media technology as a means of conveying theatre art. Their work focuses on various dimensions like socio-political satire, explorations of history and memory, verse texts, chamber opera, collaborations with regional artists, rapid-fire comedy, powerful music and arresting imagery.
