The Lie: Evolution

The Lie: Evolution: Genesis-the Key to defending your faith is a book written by Ken Ham, the founder of a creationist organization Answers in Genesis. The book is aimed at Christians who wish to highlight the relevance of Creation Science. It asserts evolution is controversial.
Synopsis
Ham bases his arguments for young Earth creationism on a completely literal reading of the book of Genesis. From this interpretation he draws radical conclusions such as all animals were immortal before the fall of Adam, and all animals and Adam and Eve were originally created as vegetarians. The book was published by the for-profit publishing arm Master Books, part of the Institute for Creation Research
Reception
Chemist Frank Lovell wrote that Ham's book does not present a scientific case about evolution, but makes a religious argument citing the Bible throughout the book. Lovell further explained that Ham claimed that an ethical "evolutionist" is a contradiction in terms and concludes that what little science was in the book is seriously flawed. Jon P. Alston uses Ham's book to help illustrate the Biblical Fundamentalist tendency to rely on literal readings of Biblical passages to do much with little information, and to blame evolution as the cause of many modern social disorders. The book has also been described as "apocalyptic".
The book has drawn criticism from old Earth creationists, who disagree with Ham's theological arguments, and say that he ignores or misrepresents the findings of modern science.
