Arthur Zaslavski (born 29 April 1984 in Brest) is an Belarusian-Canadian footballer, who currently plays for Wayne State Warriors as a goalkeeper. Playing career Zaslavski began playing soccer since 2001, by signing professional with the North York Astrosof the Canadian Professional Soccer League. The club to which his father Pavel Zaslavski served at the time as assistant coach. Zaslavski featured in limited appearances throughout his early tenure with the Astros. In his first season he served as reserve goalkeeper which restricted him from making his debut. Fortunately the following season Zaslavski made his debut on June 16, 2002 coming on as a substitute for Luciano Miranda in a match against the Mississauga Olympians. Though he served primarily as a backup goalkeeper to Miranda he was able to record his first clean sheet on September 25, 2002 against the Metro Lions. Under head coach Vittorio Villacis Zaslavski became the starting goaltender for the Astros. He would continue to play as the Astro's first choice goalkeeper throughout the 2005 season. He would help the Astros qualify for the playoffs and make his playoff debut against Toronto Croatia, but the match resulted in a 1-0 victory for Toronto. In the 2007 season Zaslavski was transferred to league giants Serbian White Eagles. He made his debut for the club on September 7, 2007 against London City. Though he made limited appearances for the Serbian side; he was able to contribute by helping the White Eagles clinch a playoff spot. On April 17, 2008 the North York Astros announced the signing of Zaslavski for the 2008 season. But unfortunately his season was cut short because of a leg injury sustained in a match against Toronto Croatia on June 29, ruling him out for the entire season. On January 22, 2009 Zaslavski re-signed with the Astros for the 2009 season. He was one of the seven returning veterans to be re-signed by the newly appointed Astros head coach Ugur Cimen. Throughout the season Zaslavski struggled to regain his form and fitness from last seasons injury, which caused him to lose his starting position to Euloge Awitor halfway through the season. Personal life Arthur is currently finishing his BAS in Administrative Studies at York University.
