Angelo O'Connor Villagomez (born October 5, 1978) is an indigenous environmentalist and blogger from Saipan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Biography Villagomez is the eldest son of Northern Mariana Islands Supreme Court Justice Ramon Garrido Villagomez and Donna Marie O'Connor. He has five brothers and two sisters. Education Villagomez is a graduate of Winter Park High School in Winter Park, Florida. He received his Bachelor of Sciences in biology from the University of Richmond and his Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Policy from Rollins College. Career Villagomez was a founding member of Beauty CNMI and Friends of the Mariana Trench Monument. He is an advocate for marine protected areas and increased protections for the Mariana Trench Marine National Monument. During the 2009 election cycle, Villagomez was the nominee for Mayor of Saipan. He received 1612 votes and placed third out of a field of nine. |
