Nanodams

Nanodams
This article talks about a potential concept for water storage.
Nanodams is a concept promoted by NRI engineers working in USA for enhancing water storage availability of Indian rivers. The idea behind nanodams is to store as much river on waterbed as possible using a blockade. Overflow of water over the nanodam is allowed and considered normal in operation; however overflow of water into adjacent area is not allowed by design. The height of the dam is kept lower than adjacent surface area by around 15% to 30% based on water flow velocity characteristics and geographical area behind zone of influence from present nanodam.
