StorageFront

StorageFront.com is a bilingual (English and Spanish) niche search engine and marketing service devoted to self storage owners, renters, and potential renters in the United States and Canada. The site launched in 2010 and is based out of Westwood (Greater Kansas City), KS. The website is owned and managed by the privately owned web technology think-tank, Red Nova Labs, also based out of Westwood, KS.
History
The idea for StorageFront and the development of the site began in July 2009. The site officially launched in February 2010.
In January 2010, Red Nova Labs moved their offices from the Corporate Woods office park in Overland Park, KS, to Cambridge Circle Drive in Kansas City, KS, to accommodate their growing business StorageFront offices remained at Corporate Woods office park until relocating to a small office suite near Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park, KS. StorageFront continued growing with the support of Red Nova Labs' marketing and development departments.
StorageFront had a successful summer season in June and July 2010, signing on two industry leaders as clients: Uncle Bob's Self Storage and Simply Self Storage.
StorageFront and Red Nova Labs merged offices again in November 2010 at their current headquarters in Westwood, KS, taking over the old Fisca building.
Major enhancements to the sites during 2010 included adding the ability for renter's to make storage unit reservations, adding a Spanish option for the site, launching two industry-specific blogs, and expanding services into Canada.
In December 2010, StorageFront began offering web visible services to larger self storage operators that already used the StorageFront platform. The Storage Calculator, a StorageFront product, became available to StorageFront clients to place on their own company website in January 2011.
Platform
The site's platform allows potential self storage renters to find and compare self storage facilities in their area. Self storage facility pages contain contact information, self storage unit information, facility amenities and pictures, map location, and driving directions. Potential renters are also able to reserve units and inquire about unit and/or facility information.
StorageFront's model for self storage facility owners is different compared to industry competitors. To list a self storage facility on the website, facility owner's pay a monthly fee instead of paying per reservation. Facility owners are able to edit/customize their page(s) and review leads using a user-friendly system of features and tools.
