Al G. Pedroche is a Filipino journalist and newspaper editor. Pedroche works as editor-in-chief of the Pilipino Star NGAYON, one of the Philippines' leading tabloids.
Early life and media career
Pedroche is a former treasurer of Capampangan in Media Inc. (CAMI), an organization of Capampangan journalists.
Tabloid industry
After the EDSA Revolution of 1986, Pedroche moved to print media, covering new President Corazon Aquino. Pedroche started as a news correspondent for daily tabloid Ang Pilipino NGAYON, later renamed Pilipino Star NGAYON, where he still works as editor-in-chief. Pedroche also wrote for the Filipino Express.
Pedrozo libel case
In June 2008 Pedroche and several co-workers faced libel charges filed by former Manila police superintendent Marcelino Pedrozo Jr. Pedrozo objected to a 2004 article that claimed he had been fired for extortion.
Christian activism
Pedroche was a supporter of Bishop Eddie Villanueva when the latter ran for the presidency in 2004. His writing helped undermine the candidacy of opponent Fernando Poe, Jr.
