Maintenance meltdown

"Maintenance Meltdown" is a short film produced by a group of students from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College, Alice Springs. It was filmed in many locations including Alice Springs Memo Club and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College. The main actor is Bill Maddocks starring in the role of Ted Dempsey, with other roles being played by fellow writers Ben Whyte, Michael O’Hanlon and Jake Hicks.
Plot
The story line is based on a play script which was produced in early 2008. It centres around a Greenkeeper at the Belliston Bowls Club who is overly passionate about his job. When the Outrageous Bowler rips up the green, Ted gets upset with his boss and attacks him. With his job lost he remembers the good times and heads away to see a psychiatrist. In the office he has a fight with a nerdy ex-waiter, but then he is called into his appointment. The psychiatrist listens to his problems and prescribes Ted with pills with great hesitation from Ted. Two weeks later Ted is shown at the office again, just as nerdy as the waiter from before, and sitting in the office is an angry hospital worker.

The Creation of Zoohorse Films
Comprising of a small group of employees, Zoohorse Films was established in the summer of 2008, with a minimum budget. Against the odds, with only a small home video camera to work with, Zoohorse Films toiled hard to produce their first feature length film. Disrupted by the availability of shooting times and locations, Zoohorse Films ceased production for a total of one week, until further notice. When the team decided there was nothing they could do and were about to close, a famous Alice Springs personality by the 'cryptic-name' of 'Zoohorse' provided inspiration to keep on going, thanks to her outrageuos clothing on this particular day. From that moment on, the team knew the name Zoohorse Films would be the right choice. The use of a Zebra on a motorbike was used as the opening caption to show that not even the lions of big movies could take the crew down.
The Association with Dodgy Film Works Bros.
From the start there was heavy feuding between the Dodgy Film Works Bros. crew and Zoohorse films over the type of video camera to be used. After much deliberation, Dodgy Film Works Bros. lived up to their name and conceeded they actually had no budget to buy a different camera. Zoohorse films eventually prevailed with their Sony handheld camcorder, with USB connection.
