2013 AdvoCare Texas Kickoff

The 2013 AdvoCare Texas Kickoff is the inaugural edition of this event and will feature the Mississippi State Bulldogs of the SEC and the Oklahoma State Cowboys of the Big 12 Conference and will be played on August 31, 2013 at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.
Game Summary
Mississippi State got out to a smooth start with a Devon Bell 40-yd Field Goal on their 1st possession to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead. Mississippi State's defense was strong as they forced a three-and-out on Oklahoma State's 1st possession of the game. LaDarius Perkins got Mississippi State past midfield on their next possession but with a Tyler Russell pass intercepted by Justin Gilbert, their possession ended there. Oklahoma State would not take advantage of that interception as they would be forced to punt. Mississippi State would also be forced to punt on their next possession. Mississippi State would have a 3-0 lead after the 1st quarter.
Oklahoma State would be forced to punt on their 1st possession of the 2nd quarter. Oklahoma State would then force a three-and-out on Mississippi State's 1st possession of the 2nd quarter. Oklahoma State was forced to punt on their next possession. Both teams forced a three-and-out on each other's next possessions and then, Mississippi State was forced to punt. Oklahoma State finally got something going on their next possession with a J.W. Walsh 3-yd touchdown run to give the Cowboys a 7-3 lead. Oklahoma State would force a three-and-out on Mississippi State's next possession and Oklahoma State would have a 7-3 lead at halftime.
Oklahoma State would get off to a successful start in the 2nd half with a Jeremy Smith 1-yd touchdown run to give the Cowboys a 14-3 lead. Okalhoma State's defense would also have a successful start by forcing a three-and-out on Mississippi State. Oklahoma State would turn then ball over on downs on their next possession. Oklahoma State would force a three-and-out on Mississippi State again on their next possession. Oklahoma State would hold a 14-3 lead after the 3rd Quarter.
Oklahoma State would get off to a successful start in the 4th quarter as Jeremy Smith had a 20-yd touchdown run to give Oklahoma State a 21-3 lead. Devon Bell would miss a 32-yd Field Goal on Mississippi State's next possession. Oklahoma State would be forced to punt on they next possession.Dak Prescott would throw an interception on Mississippi State's next possession and Zack Craig would be the one intercepting the pass to seal a 21-3 win for Oklahoma State.
