Óscar Tejeda
Moises Oscar Tejeda (born December 26, 1989 in Sabana Grande de Palenque, Dominican Republic) is a Dominican professional baseball infielder in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
Baseball career
Boston Red Sox
Tejeda was signed as an International Free Agent by the Boston Red Sox in 2006. He split the 2007 season between the Gulf Coast League Red Sox and the Lowell Spinners. In January 2008, Baseball America named Tejeda the #9 prospect in the Red Sox system. He played for the Greenville Drive in 2008 and 2009. In 2010, while playing for the Salem Red Sox, he was named a Carolina League Mid-Season All Star and Post Season All Star, and was named the Carolina League's All Star Game Top Star. On April 26, 2010, Tejeda was named the Carolina League player of the week. In November 2010, the Red Sox added Tejeda to the 40-man roster to protect him the 2010 Rule 5 Draft. In 2011, he played for the Double AA Portland Sea Dogs. He returned to Portland in 2012, before being designated for assignment on June 24, 2012, to make room for Brent Lillibridge. Tejeda was claimed by the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 27, 2012.
