Jamie Fairweather

Jamie Fairweather (born July 24, 1987) is a former Canadian soccer player who most recently played for Toronto Lynx in the USL Premier Development League.

Early life

Fairweather attended 2004 at University of Guelph and stands in the 2006 season in the OUA West Division All Star team.

Playing career

He began playing professional soccer in 2005 when he signed with the newly expansion franchise the Oakville Blue Devils of the Canadian Professional Soccer League. He made his debut on June 10, 2005 against London City in a 3-2 victory. The following week on June 12, Fairweather scored the winning goal in a 2-1 victory over the Laval Dynamites. During the season he helped Oakville achieve a 7 game undefeated streak and helped the Blue Devils finish second in the Western Conference standings. During the club's playoff run Fairweather appeared in all of Oakville's matches, and even started in the final match against the Vaughan Shooters where he played a crucial role in helping Oakville win their first CPSL Championship. Thus becoming the first expansion franchise to win the CPSL Cup in their debut season. In the 2006 season he helped the Blue Devils clinch their first National Division title, but unfortunately were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs losing 2-1 to the Windsor Border Stars.

On May 9, 2007 the Toronto Lynx announced the signing of Fairweather in a press conference. He made his Lynx debut on May 12, 2007 against the West Michigan Edge. He recorded his first goal on June 7 against Indiana Invaders in a 2-0 victory. On June 14 Fairweather was Premier Development League Player of the Week, due to stellar performances against Indiana where he scored the winning goal, and against the Chicago Fire Premier where he held Chicago to a 0-0 draw. The Lynx finished the season with a 6-6-4 record, which placed the team in fourth place in the Great Lakes Division, and only missed a playoff berth by six points. On July 15 on the annual Toronto Lynx Player Awards, Fairweather was awarded the Fan Favourite Award.

International career

He earned on 07 June 2007 his call-up for the 2007 Sommer Universiade and presented his country here.
