Chris Baker (soccer)

Chris Baker (born September 15 1985 in Waterdown, Ontario) is a Canadian soccer goalkeeper who currently plays for Toronto Lynx in the USL Premier Development League.

He started playing soccer as a youth with Saltfleet Go Ahead SC and Woodbridge Strikers. He attended Waterdown District High School and was named team captain and was MVP in his three seasons.

He was a product of the Toronto Lynx Soccer Academy graduating the Toronto Lynx Jr's program and won SUPER Y-League division title in 2005. In 2006 he was signed by the Toronto Lynx senior team playing as a reserve keeper behind Theo Zagar, and Richard Goddard, he dressed for 3 games but did see any game action. He was later loaned out to the Oakville Blue Devils of the Canadian Soccer League as a backup for Sabrahima Traore but didn't see any action.

He made his Lynx debut on September 24 in the finals of the Open Canada Cup against Ottawa St. Anthony Italia losing 2-0. After the 2006 season the Lynx franchise decided to drop two divisions down into the USL Premier Development League. With Zagar retiring and Goddard moving to the Vancouver Whitecaps, he become the starting goalie for the Lynx in 2007. Making his league debut on May 12 against West Michigan Edge.
