The PBA tour's final event of its first season, the $16,000 Dayton PBA open, was held at Bar-Jan Bowl, in Dayton, OH. The event ran from September 10, 1959 to September 13, 1959. 36 bowlers cashed in this competition. [...] Weber, of St. Louis, MO, became the first multiple winner in tour history and took home the first prize of $2,600. Rounding out the top 5 were George Howard, Ray Bluth, Therm Gibson, and Bob Strampe.
