Zhang Yong

Zhang Yong (, born 1966) is a Chinese real estate businessman.

Zhang Yong is the founder (1997), Director, Chairman and President of Xinyuan Real Estate Company Ltd. The company is a residential a real estate developer specializing high growth cities in China. (He was - until 2013 - also its CEO). He is also Vice Chairman of Henan Real Estate Association. To date, the company is faring well. For example, during the third quarter of 2014, the company had 14 active projects that were on the market.
The company also acquired one land parcel in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province and earnings for that quarter were $163 million. For the five years between 2009 and 2013, revenues at the firm have expanded 50 percent to close to $900 million. With Zhang at the helm, in 2007, Xinyuan Real Estate Company became the first Chinese real estate company to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
Before his current position, he held executive roles at other real estate-related firms, such as China Antai Real Estate Development Inc. and Zhengzhou City Construction and Development Inc. Zhang has over two decades of experience in the real estate industry.
Personal
Zhang has an executive MBA (Tsinghua University, 2005) and a BA in Architecture (Henan Zhongzhou, 1985).
Zhang is married to Yang Yuyan, who is Director and Vice President of Xinyuan Real Estate Company.
