Yung Stet

Yung Stet (born Stetsen Showen on October 21, 1988), is an American Hip-Hop artist from Rockford, Illinois, United States. He is currently signed to recording label Klassic Records. Yung Stet has worked with Lil Twist, Young Money, Lil' Flip, New Boyz, producer K.E. on the Track and many more.
Musical career
Yung Stet began his music career shortly after graduating from high school in 2006. Yung Stet made a big and bold decision to pursue his life long dream of becoming an hip-hop music artist. Stet decided to leave his small home town of Rockford, Illinois and moved to Texas in 2006. Soon after relocating to Texas, Yung Stet linked up with Houston, Texas Rapper Lil' Flip, where he would increase his knowledge and exposure throughout the music industry. While affiliated with Lil' Flip, Yung Stet had the chance to perform on stages nationally and build relationships throughout the music industry. This would be the first big break for Yung Stet to build a name for himself and make his dreams become a reality. Yung Stet took this opportunity also to learn beneficial skills including editing, directing, and engineering. During this period, Stet would participate on two mixtapes which includes, "Fly As We Wanna Be" with rapper Lil Flip and "Now or Never" which received hosting from DJ Bay Bay. Yung Stet would continue to build his fan base and build relationships throughout the industry. While in Texas Yung Stet had the chance to build a strong relationship with Cash Money Records, Universal Republic artist Lil Twist. Yung Stet would build a long lasting brotherhood relationship with Lil twist and Lil Za. In 2011, Yung Stet would get another major career opportunity when he participated in the BET music tour "Closer To My Dream". The tour hosted YMCMB and Cash Money Records artists Lil Twist and Tyga. The tour also included artists Diggy Simmons and Mindless Behavior. Yung Stet maximized off this major opportunity to help grow his national fan base and awareness. After the completion of the tour Stet would release multiple remixes, freestyles and original songs to his growing fan base. This would showcase Yung Stet true talent and help build a buzz around his name more. During this period, Yung Stet recorded a track entitled "Wait" with Hip-Hop artist "Ben J", member of the Hip-Hop duo "New Boyz". This track was never commercially released and was later available for free download to his fans. After seeing the feedback and request, Stet decided to release his first solo mixtape entitled "Bright Future". "Bright Future" included 16 tracks, which was all written, composed and engineered by Stet himself. This project would later open doors for Yung Stet, that would take his career to the next level

In late 2013, Yung Stet signed to Record Label Klassic Records, which has agreements and affiliations with Universal Music Group. Yung Stet would receive a worldwide distribution and publishing deal from Klassic Records. Stet released his first commercial single "911" under Klassic Records on June 30, 2013. Yung Stet "911" became one of the top spins on Pandora Radio and also gained "911" the title of "Best New Music" by Twitter Music Charts. This release took Stet career to another level, where he received worldwide attention. Yung Stet "911" video received a worldwide feature placement from many music video outlets including Vevo, MTV, VH1 and many more. Yung Stet video "911" gained over 30,000 views the first day on on Vevo. Yung Stet would release his first studio Album/EP "Becoming Legendary" following the success of his single 911 under Klassic Records on January 28, 2014. "Becoming Legendary" was distributed worldwide in both physical and digital copies. Yung Stet '""Becoming Legendary"" Album/EP received worldwide attention and many feature placements including Itunes, where it became one of the best sellers. The Album/EP featured other artists including Stet longtime friend and Hip-Hop artist Lil Twist whom is featured on the track "Renovation/Swag" which made its first radio debut on SiriusXM. The Album/EP also included many producers including Atlanta, GA music producer K.E. on the Track, whom also produced Rick Ross hit single The Devil Is A Lie Featuring Jay-Z and Rapper Future hit single "Magic". K.E. on the Track produced Yung Stet "That's All Me" track off of his Debut EP/Album "Becoming Legendary". Yung Stet also introduced his "Yo Beat Aint Safe" mixtape series, which gained him national attention from fans and the music industry in general. The "Yo Beat Ain't Safe" mixtape series is similar to many other Hip-hop artist mixtape series, where the artist chooses some of the latest and hottest tracks from fellow artists and give their own twist and version of the song. Vo1 one of the "Yo Beat Ain't Safe" series gained Yung Stet over 80,000 downloads in total the first week across multiple outlets. Vol 2 of the "Yo beat Ain't Safe" mixtape series followed with a large amount of downloads, which increased Yung Stet already large and growing fan-base.
Music Style
Yung Stet has a very unique versatile style which is a mixture of Mid-West, Southern and West Coast sounds. Stet word play and delivery are both creative and catchy.
