Woman Scream International Poetry Festival

The Woman Scream International Poetry Festival (Festival Internacional de Poesía Grito de mujer) is a worldwide non-profit cultural event that is held annually during the month of March. The event gathers male and female poets and artists to honor women and to raise awareness about violence.
About
The festival was first organized in 2009 by poet Jael Uribe and the Women Poets International in the Dominican Republic. The event has since spread to over 100 cities throughout the world in locations such as Spain, Canada, and Kosova. Typical events held include conferences, exhibitions, poetry recitals, competitions, and concerts. After the death of Susana Chávez in 2011, the event changed its format to also include a focus on awareness of violence.
