WFSLeague (World Foot Style League) is the first international Freestyle football league. This new sport league has been created to give the necessary tools to grow the Freestyle Football (or Freestyle soccer) activity into a structured and recognized sport. The first season of the WFSLeague started in January 2011 in Japan under the name WFSLeague Japan Series. Structure The WFSLeague has three levels of competition. Series The Series competitions are held at the country level. The 16 participating athletes are selected after a web video competition and are invited to enter the tournament. Many series competitions can be organized depending on the country size. All series winners enter the National Final where the country champion is crowned. Conference Conference competitions are held at a regional level, including several countries. Four conferences cover four areas of the globe : #Europe #Asia #Americas #Africa / Middle-East The 16 participating athletes are National Final winners and/or invited athletes. Master Final The Master Final gathers Conference winners and invited athletes. The WFSLeague Master Final is where the highest level of Freestyle Football can be found worldwide, and where the World Champion is crowned. The 16 selected athletes face each other in 1vs1 battles during two days. Video competition The video competition is a way of selecting athletes for series competitions. To be selected, the player shall send a video 1 to 2 minutes long, showcasing his skills and based on WFSLeague judging criteria. The video competition usually lasts 30 to 45 days. WFSLeague judges watch every video and select the 16 athletes who will be invited to participate to a series event. Judging system The WFSLeague has a proprietary judging system that has been invented and specifically adapted to freestyle football practice. Based on three criteria - techniques, control, performance - and rewarded by a 1-10 score for each criterion. The WFSLeague is innovative in the way that it is the first time that a clear judging system is designed for both judging the athletes level with actual criteria, but also to give the general public or the audience watching an understandable view of the competition. Draws and Ranking The 16 selected athletes are divided into four groups of four participants and depending on their results at the end of the video competition selection process. In each group, each freestyler face the three others in order to have a final cumulated score at the end of the qualification round. Only the TOP 2 of each group go through next round, that is 8 athletes out of 16. The next round uses the same system : Two groups of four freestylers. Once again only the best two freestylers(best scores)of each group will be allowed to participate the final group. 2011 Season *Winner WFSLeague Tokyo : YAMATO *Winner WFSLeague Osaka : LYU
