Kaspars Ikstens (born 5 June 1988) is a Latvian football goalkeeper. Since 2013 his club is Ungmennafélagið Víkingur in the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild football league. Club career JFK Olimps He started his professional football career in 2006 when he signed a contract with FC Skonto but was given for loan to JFK Olimps for 3 years,when he was only 17 years old. His first club was JFK Olimps, in first season with JFK Olimps, as first goalkeeper, he won the Latvian 1.league and was promoted to Latvian Virsliga. He played for JFK Olimps for 3 years and also played 2 games in 1st round UEFA Qualification against St.Patrick from Ireland in 2008. After a successful 2009 season with JFK Olimps,he was taken back from loan to FC Skonto. FC Skonto He was the first goalkeeper and in 2010, he became a champion of Latvian LMT Virsliga and also was named as the best goalkeeper of Latvian LMT Virsliga 2010.He also played 2 games in 1st round Europa league Qualifiers against FC Portadown from Northern Ireland and his also a winner of 2011 Baltic Champions Cup and Baltic Cup.In 2011 season in 5th game of Latvian Virsliga he got injured and missed all season.In 2012 he left FC Skonto to join another Latvian Virsliga club FC Daugava. FC Daugava He started the 2012 season as first goalkeeper playing first 18 games in Latvian Virsliga and played two games in 1st round of Europa Qualifiers against FK Suduva from Lithuania.After that he didn't play any game for Fc Duagava until the end of the season.He became a champion of Latvian Virsliga 2012 with FC Daugava and left the club to join Icelandic club Víkingur Ólafsvík from the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild football league. International career He has played for all youth national teams. He was first goalkeeper in U-21 Latvian national team, played 6 games in European Qualification group stages. First time he was called up to Latvia national football team in 2010 for a friendly game against Angola as reserve goalkeeper and after that for the Baltic Cup where were games against Lithuania and Estonia, but as reserve keeper. In the end of successful season with FC Skonto he was called up for friendly game against China, but as reserve goalkeeper. In 2011 he was called up against Israel for European Qualification games but again as reserve goalkeeper.
