Wayzata Central Middle School

Wayzata Central Middle School is a school in Plymouth, Minnesota. It is a middle school in the Wayzata School District educating students from sixth to eighth grade. The school's mascot is the Trojan, the same mascot as Wayzata High School, West Middle School, and East Middle School.
Activities
There are many activities for students to participate in. Some extracurricular include Art Club, Spring Musical Cast, wrestling, and the Stock Market Game. Any student at the school can join these clubs for a fee of $25, which lets them join as many clubs as they wish to. 6th, 7th and 8th grade students are also allowed to join sports teams such as football, basketball, and swim team which all require a separate fee. (6th graders can not join a sports team such as Cross Country or the Swim team. They can only play on a team that is recreational and doesn't play for the district.)
History
Wayzata Central Middle School, commonly called CMS, was once the high school in the Wayzata school district, but when the current Wayzata High School was built, CMS was demoted to a middle school. Since CMS was a high school, the school has many qualities of a high school that the other Wayzata middle schools do not have, such as an ice rink. It also has the largest auditorium stage, which has done many musicals. It has also been the home of the Summer Theater program since 2005 (although the program has now been replaced by the Blue Water Theatre Company).
Grade layout
Each year, students are assigned to one of three "teams": Blue, Gold, Silver, or White. A student's team determines which teachers he or she will have, as well as their lunch period.
Layout
Unlike Wayzata East and West, Central has its own ice rink. This is because it replaces the swimming pool, located in the other two schools. The ice rink is enjoyed by all grades, young and old, and a common gym actvity played there is a sport known as Broomball.
