Virtual high five

A virtual high five is a celebratory gesture that has evolved from its parent gesture - a high five. The term predominately exists in the United Kingdom. In the United States, the synonymous term Air Five is preferred.
A high five becomes virtual when the individuals involved are unable to physically slap each others' raised hand due to a geographical gap between both parties. This gap is large enough that hands are unable to touch upon delivery of the high-five thrust and, while the gap may be of any size, the individuals involved MUST still be visable by each other.
A virtual high five becomes a distance high five when the individuals are no longer visible to one another, and is therefore delivered by alternative means of communication. (e.g. the internet)
