Gigacasting

Gigacasting

Coined by Larry Miller as the new term for managing personal and business data on-line for the general populous.

As technology has grown, so has data. Data as we know it in it's simplest form are 1's or 0's. With the global advent of technology we have more data than ever before. And more cause for better management of it.

It has been stored on various media types: Punch cards, Magnetic tape, 5 1/4 floppy disks, 3 1/2 floppy disks, physical hard drives of various sizes, optical devices,SANs, flash drive, and these only to name a few of the storage venues.

With all this data, now we see the need to manage it more efficiently, we the best security, and with greater flexibility to recover it when needed.

With hardwire and wireless speeds now available to a larger populous the demand for efficient, secure, high availability storage is being made available over the Internet. This high availability in the past was only available to large organizations who could afford the cost of having high transfer speed over the Internet. Today it is common place for individuals, small businesses, and large organizations to have this access at affordable rates.
