Trevor Marshall

Trevor G. Marshall (b. 1948, Adelaide, South Australia) is adjunct professor at Murdoch University, Western Australia. Marshall is a board member of the California-based Autoimmunity Research Foundation, a member of the German UGESA Scientific Board, and his work has included biotechnology, electrical engineering, microchip development, molecular biology, and software development.
Background
Marshall was born in 1948 in Adelaide, Australia. In 1963 at the age of 15, Marshall was issued with an amateur's radio operator's license, and set an Australian UHF long distance communications record in 1965; in 1973 he designed a kit version of the Moog synthesizer.
After receiving his undergraduate degree Marshall completed a master's degree at the University of Adelaide in 1978, and PhD in 1984 at the University of Western Australia, all in electrical engineering. His master's research involved the design of portable, battery operated programmable hormone-delivery pumps for the treatment of cryptorchidism and infertility. Marshall continued his PhD thesis research while at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, which led to his thesis Modelling and simulation in diabetes care and a paper on insulin infuser technologies.
In 1986 Marshall was hired as a contributing editor for , transitioning to writing web columns for byte.com from 1999 to 2003.
