Jaquelyn McCandless

Jaquelyn McCandless, MD is an Autism specialist, clinician and author. She specializes in the treatment of developmentally delayed children, primarily those in the autistic spectrum disorder group. She is a Life Member of Defeat Autism Now!'s Executive Board since 2005 and has been a member of Defeat Autism Now! Think Tank since 2002. Dr. McCandless developed the Physician Training Course for Autism Treatment in 2005. She has traveled the world educating physicians and parents in conferences throughout the United States, Israel, Scotland and Hong Kong.
Dr. McCandless has been married for 31 years to Jack Zimmerman. She is the mother of 5 children and grandmother of 13. She currently resides in Hawaii and California.
Education
Dr. McCandless received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Chicago in 1957 and went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Medical Biology at the University of IL College of Medicine, Chicago IL. She received her Doctor of Medicine from that same University in 1961. In 1976, she received her certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
