The band name, Trailing Cable, originates from a Health and Safety lesson in which band members Beasley and Goode were warned sternly that trailing cables were extremely dangerous. Trailing Cable try hard to establish a vocal personality for each band member. The main vocalists are Beasley and Goode, who also form a songwriting partnership on many of the group's original songs.
Musical Style
Trailing Cable's musical style is usually that of mainstream modern pop; with an element of hip-hop. However, the inclusion of an electric guitarist in the group means that some people regard them as a rock based group. Songs in their set such as a reworked version of 'Satisfaction' show a certain leaning towards the rock genre.
Most songs performed by the band are written by Beasley-Goode, but some cover versions are included in their normal set.
Personnel:
Saskia Beasley: Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Harmonica, Piano, Vocals
Georgie Goode: Drums, Vocals
Lucy Green: Bass Guitar, Vocals
Beasley cites bands such as the Beatles, Guns 'N' Roses, Tenacious D and Aerosmith as her main songwriting influences, recently saying:
I think the Beatles are fantastic. My favourite Beatle? John, hands down. His songs were very deep, and I personally think that Strawberry Fields Forever is a masterpiece. They simply were the greatest band of all time. I like to listen to the guitar work of Slash. His riffs and mind-blowing solos really influence me a lot,
However, drummer and songwriter Georgie Goode is influenced by modern day bands such as Pendulum and Scooter. This has a major bearing on the bands diverse music style.
