A.L.X. is a post-punk songwriter and musician based in New York City.
History
A.L.X. learned to sing and play guitar in his late teens in New York, and in the mid 90's, he cut an unreleased EP with Brooklyn producer Roger Greenawalt. In 1997 he cut a full-length album with Grammy nominated producer Luke Ebbin, of Bon Jovi fame. It included contributions from session guitarist Cameron Greider and bassist Jeff Allen.In 2007, producer Sammy Merendino (better known as Cyndi Lauper's drummer) helped him recruit musicians to develop and record the songs for a new album. No Eyes for the Future includes contributions from acclaimed jazz/rock guitarist Jeff Golub and guitarist Andrew Carillo of Joan Osborne.
A.L.X. regularly performs live with a backing band that includes former Blondie guitarist Jimi Bones and Thommy Price, the drummer for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Session bassist Arthur Sadowsky also plays for the group.
A.L.X. cites both David Bowie and Iggy Pop as important influences.
