Devine band

Devine Band is a band formed by singer/guitarist Travis Smith in 2010. Other members of the band include bassist Alexandria Homan and drummer Chase Spieker. All three attend Cumberland Regional High School. Their unique style of music has made them stand out in the media. They have also played numerous shows at local venues. One of the most notable shows occured on February 12, 2011 at Hangar 84 in Vineland New Jersey. They competed with 11 other local bands and played a five song set showing off their talents as musicians.
History
Devine was formed sometime in 2010 by Travis Smith. Travis had left his previous bands in pursuit of a band that would be as serious as he was. This was where he met Chase Spieker. Chase also had an interest in music and had been playing drums since he was ten. Travis decided to go with Chase as his drummer and recruited Sherra Lehman as his bass player. The three also agreed to go with the band name Devine.
After a few months of playing, it was decided to find a bass player that was more serious. Alexandria Homan was then introduced to the band. She was added to the band after a short half hour tryout. "She blew our mind as soon as we heard her play" laughed Travis in an interview for the Bridgeton Newspaper.
The three played their first show on February 12, 2011 at Hangar 84. Their hard work put into two practices a week had finally paid off. They sold out of tickets and made a great impression for themselves.
Influences
Devine is influenced by a number of bands. Each member has their own influence. Travis Smith is influenced by a number of 90's bands including: Nirvana, Green Day, and Foo Fighters. Chase Spieker is influenced by All Time Low and Alexandria Homan is influenced by classic bands like Rush and Pink Floyd. These influences take a huge role in their songwriting and you can see it in their 11 original songs.
Genre
Devine has a unique style of rock music that stands out to their audience. They have created a genre of their own that can't be found anywhere else. The main mix of their music includes grunge and alternative rock. Aside from this, they also adapt a unique song format. Travis said in an interview that he trys to get his music to the point and keep it short. This unique genre also comes from the three putting their influences together.
