Tomahawks For Targets is an alternative rock/progressive pop band from the North East of England. It consist of four members: James Haselhurst (guitars/vocals/keyboards), Ross Harley (bass guitar/vocals), David Baron (drums/vocals) and Phil Haselhurst(keyboards/guitars/vocals). Harley previously played in the band Yourcodenameis:milo. The others played in various Newcastle bands before coming together as a four piece. Ahead pf their debut album's release they gained considerable attention across the music industry, as a band who may soon break into a wider level of recognition. Their first album, Invasion On A Budget was released on 5 March 2012, through the independent label Audio Excess. A downloadable single, "The Total Collapse Of It All", was released in advance of the album on 3 October 2011. An EP, Son of Rust, was released on June 13, 2013 and is available on their Bandcamp page. Career They have so far released two 4-track EPs, entitled The Total Collapse Of It All and More Of The Savage. They released a downloadable single, also entitled "The Total Collapse Of It All" in October 2011. Another promotional single, called "Sputnik" began to receive airplay in February 2012, in advance of their first album. A video for this track has been made. These releases, as well as a string of live shows across the UK, have led them to rapidly gain attention as a hotly tipped up-and-coming band, receiving praise from Tom Robinson of BBC 6 Music, as well as from a number of local radio stations and magazines in early 2011. They were selected by BBC Introducing to play the 2011 Reading & Leeds Festivals. They also played Split Festival in Sunderland, at the request of The Futureheads. Their track, "The Total Collapse Of It All", was chosen to be playlisted by BBC Radio 1 to coincide with its release on 3 October 2011. Their first full length album will be released in Autumn 2012.
