Bob cuba

Bob Cuba are a Scottish indie pop band with 3 members known as the "Bobs" (Sbob, Cbob and Jbob). They have a somewhat cult status in the underground music scene in Canada, Netherlands, Belgium and Japan following their music forming the soundtrack to the Nickelodeon cartoon "Girlstuff Boystuff" in 2003 . This has led to obvious comparisons with fellow Scottish group Bis, who also appeared in cartoons to promote their music, although their style is more bombastic.

Members
The band consists of brothers Colin and Stuart Stevenson from Ayr and John Watt from Glasgow, Scotland. Approx age of members is 26-30 years old.

Releases
The band have released 3 records to date on the label Fusion Records, which is the band's own label. Bounce EP was released in May 2003, Million Eyes single in May 2004 and their debut album "Bob Cuba" will be released in June 2007. Given their limited distribution capacity by having their own record label, they have not yet broken the British charts.

Live
Their live shows have become notorious for being raucous and energetic events, often with their fans invading the stage with spacehoppers (which has become the band's trademark). This has led to sell-out shows across the UK, although the band has not yet had chart success, chosing to release their material on the internet only.

Recent News
Having largely cult status in the underground indie scene to date, they are aiming for a wider appeal with the imminent release of their debut album "Bob Cuba" in June 2007. This has seen the band take on a more mainstream sound. Radio 1 have tipped them as "the next Primal Scream".
