Gundriver

Gundriver is an American rock band formed in Hollywood, CA in early 2013 comprised of Tom (Guitars), "Crazy" Tomes (Vocals, Guitars, Bass, Keyboards) and Alex Rivas (Drums). They can best be described as early metal with heavy rock leanings. Gundriver was founded by Tom (former Apache Pilot and where the band gets its name) following his departure from the Army. The band got together for the first time in February 2013 to write their initial EP, with Scott Siegel who was singing at the time. The band felt the results were so positive that they later completed their first album "No.1" featuring what the band considers their signature tunes "Against the Darkness" and "Nothing to Lose". The band recorded their first and second releases in Soulution Studios in Hollywood, with recording engineer Jim Morgan.
After completing 12 songs, the group released their first album of 9 tracks in October of 2013. The band subsequently coordinated a North American tour slot opening for Michael Schenker (Scorpions, UFO) in January-February of 2014. During their first tour Siegel decided that he "wasn't cut our for touring" and left the group in the middle of the tour due to personal issues. Siegel was replaced by "Crazy" Tomes on vocals, and the line up for Gundriver was set. Tomes' exceptionally gruff tenor voice and charismatic stage presence was well received by rock audiences and professionals alike throughout the rest of the tour.
Following their return from their first North American tour and the loss of their original singer, Gundriver re-arranged and re-recorded the vocals with "Crazy" Tomes singing. The songs were re-mixed by James Morgan at Soulution Studios and Mastered by Pete Doell at Universal Mastering. In October of 2014 the band entered into a distribution agreement with The Orchard (international distribution) out of New York City; re-releasing "No.1" on the 19th of December, 2014. In the interim, the band wrote and recorded their second, and yet to be named/released, album.
It is expected that the band will conduct another North American Tour in early 2015 to coincide with the release of their second album. Tom says of the bands continued growth "It's all in staying true to why we started the band in the first place... because we wanted to make great music, period...Rock fans deserve home-grown, REAL music, and that's what we're making... tune it in, turn it up and let 'er rip."
