"Then You Left Me" is a country ballad recorded by the Bee Gees, first released as the B-side of "I.O.I.O." in the US on 13 June 1970.In the UK, "Sweetheart" was chosen as the B-side. This song was also released on the album Cucumber Castle in April 1970. The song's video was on the TV show called Cucumber Castle. The song's intro was close to the melody of The Beatles' 1970 song "Let It Be".
The song was written by Barry Gibb and Maurice Gibb and was recorded around July 1969 during the same as they recorded "Every Time I See You Smile", "The Lord" and "I Was the Child". It was one of the last songs to feature drummer Colin Petersen. He left the group in August 1969 and was replaced by Terry Cox.
