The Risk

The Risk are a boyband from England and Scotland formed on The X Factor at bootcamp. The group originally was a five-piece, composed of Andy Merry, Derry Mensah, Mitchell Pike, Marlon McKenzie and Ashley Baptiste. At judges houses they sang No Air by Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown but a go by mentor Tulisa. However, Contostavlos only put 3 acts through (2 Shoes, Nu Vibe and Little Mix (then Rhythmix)), she tood Charlie Healy from The Keys and Baptiste, Mensah and Merry from the Risk to form the Risk.
In week 1 (Britain vs. America) they sang She Said by Plan B and were saved by their mentor. In week 2 (Love and heartbreak) they sang Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars and were safe. In week 3 (Rock music) they sang Crazy by Gnarls Barkley and were safe.
On 28th October 2011, it was announced they Ashey Baptiste had decided to leave the group, stating that 'his heart did not lie in a boyband anyore'. He was replaced by Ashford Campbell, originally in Nu Vibe, who were eliminated in week 2 after being the bottom 2 alongside Frankie Cocozza.
The Risk's first performance with Campbell was in week 4(Halloween) was Thiller by Michael Jackson. They were safe. In week 5 (Club classics) they sang A Night To Remember by Shalamar and were eliminated having received the fewest public votes in the series' double elimination, much to the surprise of the 6 acts who were safe (Marcus Collins, Craig Colton, Frankie Cocozza, Janet Devlin, fellow group Little Mix and Misha B).
