Fanny Pak is a Los Angeles dance group formed by Matt Cady and some of his friends whom he met while teaching a dance class at his studio. As a dance crew, Fanny Pak got its name because all of its four-girl and three-male members were born in the 80s, an era which they described as "an unapologetic, take-chances, and take-risks era," something that they also embody as a performing group. The Los Angeles, California-based group sports colorful costumes reminiscent of the fashion explosion during the 80s.

America's Best Dance Crew Performances
Live Auditions Special *Aired on June 07, 2008
Each crew danced to mixes of their original audition music. Fanny Pak danced to a mix of 11h30 by Danger and wore their 80's clothes.
Week 1 *Aired on June 19, 2008
Each crew performed to songs of their own choosing.
Fanny Pak, again dressed in their 80's clothes, chose "Speakerphone" by Kylie Minogue. Although in the bottom two, all three judges commented on their not deserving to be in the bottom of that week's show.
Week 2 *Aired on June 26, 2008
Each crew was given a different video with a dance sequence in it, which they had to perform while keeping their own style as a crew.
Fanny Pak was given the music video for "Wind It Up" by Gwen Stefani. This required them to step away from their usual style a bit and attempt a classic b-boy move, the flare. JC said he admired Glenda's athleticism, as she was the only female member in the group to do a back-tuck, while everyone else did an assistanced backflip, but viewed their "kick float up" as a bit sloppy. Shane, while praising their timing with the video dance moves, called the flare attempt "wack", but gave them credit for trying it anyways.
Week 3 *Aired on July 3, 2008
Each crew was given a song whose title was used as inspiration for their dance.
Fanny Pak received the song "Toy Soldier" by Britney Spears. As part of the challenge, they dressed in military-esque uniforms and started the performance with their feet in stands similar to those of Army men before "breaking out". Shane said that Fanny Pak remained underdogs, but that he admired the underdogs "cause the underdogs bring it hard", and Lil Mama said she actually felt like she was in a toy store and praised them for being very edgy and for "going hard".
Week 4 *Aired on July 10, 2008
Crews must transition from a slow song to a faster one while still remaining on beat.
Fanny Pak chose the song “Touch My Body” by Mariah Carey. Megan played a punk rock girl who spikes the punch, triggering the speed change, at the rest of the crew's '80s prom.
Week 5 *Aired on July 17, 2008
Each crew was given a Janet Jackson song and have to incorporate some of her moves in their dance. Similar to Michael Jackson week of season 1.
Fanny Pak was given "" as their Janet Jackson track. Shane had said that the performance felt like an orgy but he also felt the male members of the group needed to dance more like guys. Lil Mama, on the other hand, didn't feel that the male members needed to change how they move, because she feels this is their lifestyle. Overall, she was very pleased with their performance. J.C. said parts of the performance were "gimmicky", but went on to say that he enjoyed the "quick, quick, slow" movements. Also he mentioned that this performance was probably the "sexiest" one ever to take hold on the ABDC stage.
