The Flappy Bird Effect is where a game or idea such as Flappy Bird or Potato Salad Kickstarter is an idea that for some reason the internet takes hold of and spreads far and wide making it so popular that nearly everybody knows about it. Spread It doesn't matter if it's a good or bad idea it just spreads incredibly quickly. Most of the time its spread is down to timing and initial exposure which if both are present, the idea will spread very quickly. After Effect An after effect of a Flappy Bird Effect can also be that many clones of the idea are spawn each worse that the original. Something like Flappy Bird is suddenly so popular that if you search the app store for 'Flappy Bird' you will find hundereds of clones all trying to do the same thing. |
