The Edward Richardson Community Primary School

The Edward Richardson Community Primary School is a primary school that is situated in the village of Tetford, Lincolnshire, England and it has around 100 pupils.
Introduction
The school is a state school in the historic village of Tetford.
The school has four classes, two of which are in Key Stage 1 and two of which are in Key Stage 2.
Staff
As at 2010/11 there are 16 staff; this can vary from one academic year to the next. There are seven car spaces, for staff use.
The staff are all employed by Lincolnshire County Council.
Amenities of particular note
There is a large playing field, which children are allowed on during the summer months (for obvious reasons); also there is an area laid to tarmac for all other times except when rain does not permit.
The school has its own heated, outdoor swimming pool, which is deep.
The school is connected to the Internet through the company Ramesys.
History
The school is situated on a probable ancient landfill site. The old Tetford School is located around away from the present school and has been converted into a domestic household. There was also a well that the school used situated not far from the old school, upon which an inspection hatch now lies.
The Edward Richardson Primary School has had many extensions to the former buildings including, following a temporary classroom (now dismantled at Kingston upon Hull]:
* Two more permanent classrooms, which are now Classes 3 & 4;
* An extension to the staff room;
* A headteacher's office; and
* A secretary's office
Awards
The Edward Richardson Primary School has won numerous awards, including International School Award 2003, 2006, 2009; Healthy School Award June 2007, Basic Skills Quality Mark 2006 - 2012 and ActiveMark 2008.

There are around 100 pupils attending this school.
Mascot

Edward Bear, son of Albert Bear, who is the mascot for Sheffield Hallam University, is a pinnacle figure amongst the staff and pupils of The Edward Richardson Primary School. Edward has been whisked away by pupils to far away places such as Sydney, the Pyramids of Egypt and Butlins, Skegness.
Residential trip
Every year, in or around March, there is a residential trip lasting a week for students in years 4, 5 and 6, who wish to experience them. The destinations vary on a three year rota, which includes Scarborough, Bournemouth and Llandudno. Each trip lasts a working week and include many events, which have included Conwy Castle, North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Poole Pottery, Brownsea Island, Monkey World, Corfe Castle, Stonehenge, Welsh Mountain Zoo, Styal, Snowdon and its mountain railway and Scarborough Castle.
The cost of each trip varies, but in 2008 it cost roughly £180.
