The art of hacking (stylized as the art of hacking) is an international information security project supported by the National Security Database of India. The Project aims to provide workshops on informational security and ethical hacking led by renowned cyber security experts and ethical hackers from India and abroad. The workshops teach participants on how to fight against cyber criminals and how to protect themselves from being hacked. It was conceptualized by industry experts associated along with law enforcement agencies and as well domestic and multinational companies. Background Due to the increasing prevalence of cyber crimes in India, a need has arisen to spread awareness about the different online threats. As technology progresses, people become more dependent on entering personal information online (i.e. utilization of social media, performing business transactions, paying bills, making reservations, etc.). The threat of information theft has increased with this dependency. The lack of awareness about attack vectors and how a malicious attacker accesses information increases the risk of being attacked. Research has shown that nearly 75% of attacks today occur at the application layer, making thousands of online users vulnerable. A successful attack could result in a loss of confidential data, revenue, productivity, customer confidence, market standing and much more. Attackers constantly probe systems, networks and web-based applications in search of exploitable vulnerabilities. With the perspective of an attacker, developers will be able to think outside the box and do smart coding. The workshops help students learn how to secure themselves from cyber threats and includes hands-on demonstrations of latest hacking techniques and tools. Participants receive a Certificate of Participation from “The art of hacking” Authority, which is approved by India's National Security Database. Mission The project aims to provide India's most respected workshop in the field of ethical hacking and information security. It strives to train participants and produce skilled ethical hackers and equip them with all the tools, techniques and methods needed to fight cyber crime on the Internet. Security professionals and ethical hackers associated with the project have trained more than 300,000 participants across India. These workshops are intended to produce a cyber army needed for the next generation. The live interactive sessions, practical lab sessions and real-life examples will take participants inside the minds of an ethical hacker and teach them how to fight cyber criminals on the Internet. Need for information security * Huge demand of IT security professionals - As per NASSCOM, India will require 200,000 IT security professionals by the end of 2012. * Recession-proof industry - Even with the economic meltdown, the IT security industry is supposed to have 30% compounded annual growth over the next 5 years because of ever increasing cyber crimes and exponential growth of broadband Internet. Management board * Benild Joseph - Director and Chief Executive Officer * Mary M. - Executive Director * Praveen Babu Mathew - Executive Director * Falgun Rathod - Chief Operating Officer (COO) * Sai Satish - Chief Technical Officer (CTO) * Gaurav Singh - Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)
