Security
CMS content management services can be accessed from any remote system with a Web browser and Internet access. With increases accessibility options rises increase in security threats. The CMS platform is composed of CrownPeak software running on Windows servers: a Microsoft IIS Web server and a Microsoft SQL database server. Multiple server pairs (CMS units) make up the CMS platform. Each customer is assigned to a shared CMS unit and granted exclusive access to their own content management environment and database instance. A combination of Web, database, and application security methods and practices insulate customers both from each other and from external attack.
Web Browser Security
To access the CMS content management through a web interface, the customer’s browser must have JavaScript, VBScript, and session cookies enabled. Cookies used by the CMS application contain an RC5-encrypted timestamp, but do not hold any user credentials or session data. In other words, CMS does not store any sensitive information on the user’s system.
Web Server Security
Customers interface with Microsoft’s IIS Web server using a custom CrownPeak Internet Server API (ISAPI).
