Agile platform

The Agile Platform was created by OutSystems as a complete software development and management solution targeted at building web business applications and web sites. It equips IT with all the required tools to integrate, assemble, deploy, manage and change web business applications using agile methodologies.
The Agile Platform resorts to a visual programming language to accelerate the creation of web applications without resorting to low level programming. Applications are deployed automatically with 1-click, to produce standard .Net or Java applications that run on top of IIS/JBoss servers using SQL Server or Oracle databases.
The Agile Platform has been used being used by companies across several industries including Telecom, Banking and Insurance, Pharma, Utilities, Consumer Goods and Government to create web applications and web sites like:
*Employee Intranets: Content Manager, Documents, Directory, Expenses, Vacations, Timesheets and Forums.
*CRMs:Customers, Contacts, Leads, Opportunities, Campaigns, Products and Orders.
*Public Web Sites: Content Manager, Documents, Products, Forums, Orders and Self-Provisioning.
*Partner Portals: Enrollment, Training, Forums, Documents, Campaigns, Quotes and Orders.
*Call Centers: Customers, Contacts, Help Desk, Agent Stats, Scripts and Workflows.

Agile Platform components
*Service Studio: Service Studio is a desktop environment targeted at business-minded developers to rapidly assemble and change web business applications using visual models. With Service Studio developers assemble all components necessary to completely define a web business application, without writing any code. The tool enables the modeling of Web 2.0 User Interfaces, Business Logic, Databases, Integration Components, Web Services, Security Rules and Scheduling activities. Service Studio embeds a full-reference checking and self-healing engine (TrueChangeTM ) that assures error-free and robust change across all application components.
*Integration Studio: Integration Studio is a desktop environment targeted at developers to quickly create custom components to integrate external applications and databases. Integration Studio includes wizards to identify, map and integrate Databases, library APIs and SAP components and works with Microsoft Visual Studio and Eclipse to build custom integration adapters. An integration adapter is published from Integration Studio onto the Agile Platform Server with 1 click, extending Service Studio with new visual objects. The same integration adapter can then be reused many times in different web business applications.
*Service Center: Service Center is a web console that enables the operational management of the Agile Platform. Through Service Center, Application Managers configure sophisticated IT access control policies across Development, QA and Operation teams. Service Center provides version control and configuration management of all web business applications, services, integration adapters and other application resources. It also allows Operation teams to monitor and audit running applications to detect and isolate performance and quality issues, and to manage highly scalable, 24x7 application server farms.
*Agile Platform Server: The Agile Platform Server is the collection of server-side components and services that make up the Agile Platform. The Build & Change Services include a Metadata Repository to store all Platform resources like application model versions and configurations, platform users and access control rules, as well as all application linking and generation. The Agile Platform Server leverages standard Application Servers for .Net and Java environments.
