Sylvester Braithwaite

Dr. Sylvester Braithwaite (born December 15, 1953) is an Barbadian author and medical doctor working out of Miami Florida. He is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists' Committee on Adolescent Health Care, and has made it his commitment to help find a solution to teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases
Biography
Sylvester Reynold Braithwaite (born December 15, 1953) is an Obstetrician/Gynecologist, professional speaker, author. He has over 25 years experience in adolescent health care in Canada, West Indies, Europe and the US. He is the author of "Teen Spirit": 55 strategies to help parents talk to their teens about sexuality. He is co-founder of BayView Hospital in Barbados. Due to his commitment to improving adolescent health care, he was appointed by the President of the American College of Obstetrician and Gynecologists to the Committee on Adolescent Health Care for the 2001-2003 College year
He is the medical director of Women and Teens Healthcare and the President of the non-profit Reach For the STARS foundation which currently develops and provides comprehensive sexual health programs for Florida's youth and those who impact on them. He is featured on the released DVD entitled “” which fulfills his personal mission to improve adolescent healthcare. He has received the CTM award from Toastmasters International and is the Medical Director for Alert Health
He has partnered with Advocates for Youth in promoting 3R Campaign-Respect, Rights and Responsibility ---Teen Sexuality. These programs will enable youth to develop healthy sexual attitudes and behaviors based upon proven public health strategies that reduce teen pregnancies, birth, abortions and sexually transmitted diseases including HIV/AIDs.
