Street comedy

Street comedy is a form of comedy and an internet meme pioneered by Ben "Street Comedy" Reeves, associate editor for Game Informer magazine. The term was first coined by Reeves during an attempt to set a Guinness world record for longest fighting game marathon, alongside Jeff "Sits-in-one-place" Cork, Tim "Timtation" Turi, and Dan "America Pants" Ryckert.
History and Origins
On March 20, 2011, Jeff Cork, Dan Ryckert, Tim Turi, and Ben "Street Comedy" Reeves set the Guinness world record for longest fighting game marathon, at 30 hours of continuous play. During those arduous hours, participants grew increasingly weary; and thus Street Comedy was born. "I just started spitting out whatever popped into my head." Reeves told an interviewer. "I definitely am planning my Street Comedy more now. I'm refining my skills; honing my senses. I look for places in coversations to strike."
Possible Future
Reeves' friends and co-workers, including Jeff, Tim, and Dan, have encouraged him to take his Street Comedy to the masses, and perform a stand-up set. Reeves has yet to make an official yes/no announcement on this prospect. "I don't think comedy clubs are quite ready for what I'm bringing. It's a new age of comedy, a second coming. When they're ready, I'll be ready." On August 5-7, six Game Informer editors will be attempting to set six different records, after the longest fighting game marathon record was taken. Reeves will be playing games from the Metal Gear series for over 24 hours. "I don't know if Street Comedy will return," Reeves commented. "But it might. 'Street' fans should be on the lookout that weekend."
