Skyshard Heroes is a massively multiplayer online persistent browser-based strategy game developed by the American software company Synapse Games. Gameplay Skyshard Heroes has been set a magical steam punk world. Each player starts the game as the leader of the resistance for the purposes of the campaign story line. The players first task will be to build a citadel thus founding their base of operations. From there the tutorial directs the player to build various resource, defensive and technological based buildings. The player can develop these buildings to increase their resource output, defensive capability, unlock new troops or upgrades for troops heroes and equipment. The town can be developed by constructing new buildings and upgrading existing ones. Recruiting troop units allows players to attack other towns to plunder its resources which is the games first stage in its PVP element. For defence from enemy attacks whilst offline the player relies on his defensive buildings and the towns layout to protect the towns assets, whilst online however the player may summon any one of the heroes he has acquired to assist in the towns defence. For attack the player may select a hero and accompanying troops, the player is limited initially to three attacks which are replenish at a rate one every 20 minuets. There are a considerable number of campaign missions to complete as well, which may be repeated for additional resources or campaign items. Both offensive and defensive missions require energy of which the player has a limited store. This is replenished at a rate of one per minute. Players can communicate with each other using in-game a chat facility, and may join an alliances for military co-operation with other players. This will allow the player to participate in the second stage of the games PVP element, conquest. Players must be registered on one of these websites to start a game, providing an e-mail address, and creating a user name and a password
